Is there a simpler way than Bootstrap Carousel to create a slider / carousel using CSS 3

I have implemented a slider with Bootstrap and it works. However my site is not a bootstrap site so I would prefer not to add this additional library.

Can someone tell me is there a very simple way that I can implement a carousel using the techniques that are now in the modern browsers. If there is a simple and very small library I could use then I would love to learn more about that.
